Mundus Vini

Albet i Noya, were awarded a gold medal for Reserva Martí and a silver medal for Núria, at the Mundus Vini International challenge, Germany?s most important wine event.

Reserva Martí is produced from the oldest vineyards that we have at Albet i Noya, a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petite Sirah. It is aged in casks of new French oak, thereafter held in bottle for two more years.

Núria, is an unheard-of blending in our country, which combines the principal variety Merlot (95 %) with Caladoc (3 %) and Petite Sirah (2 %). It is aged in casks of French Allier oak for 14 months.

By chance these two wines received awards the year before in reverse order, when Núria was awarded the gold medal and Reserva Martí won the silver. This year 4495 wines from 31 countries were presented.

The tasting assessment system used is that of the International Oenologists' Association (UIOE) which has been specifically developed for international tasting.

This competition is one of the leading wine competitions held in the world, together with the Paris, London, Montreal and Brussels events.
