Coinciding with the Alimentaria Fair, the prestigious French wine guide, Gilbert & Gaillard, has given its awards for the best wines in Catalonia.
On this occasion, our cellar has been acknowledged with 4 gold medals and 1 silver medal. Specifically, the white wines El Fanio 2014 (100% Xarel·lo aged in cement eggs and acacia barrels) and the experimental El Blanc XXV 2013 (Marina Rión, Vidal and Viognier) have received the highest praise. As for the red wines, La Milana 2012 (Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Merlot and Caladoc) and Reserva Martí 2009 (Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah) have also been given a gold medal, while the single-variety Syrah Col·lecció 2012 has been awarded with a silver medal.
We would highlight that both El Fanio 2014 and Reserva Martí 2009 have been acknowledged with over 90 points.
The Gilbert & Gaillard magazine, the second most important in the world specialising in the world of wine, has written a large article about Catalonia after having spent last February travelling through the country’s 12 designation of origin regions. In total, they visited 114 cellars and tasted over 330 wines and sparkling wines.
